Background

It is necessarily acknowledged that translating skill may not be studied through a linguistics approach only, as there are still two more important aspects which constitute an integral part of translating and interpreting skills, namely socio-linguistic and psycho-linguistic approaches of which we call “philological science” .

Based on the abovementioned matters, we, QBB English Education, apply the three aforesaid approaches, through which the student can find the “ substance ” of translation namely the “ message ” of translation containing in the source language which will be translated into the target language from English into Indonesian or vice versa.

 

Method

QBB English Education adopts SEIC Method from Hapsa et Studia, whereby the handbook used in the class is the book of Cara Mudah Menulis & Menterjemahkan (CMM)/Simplified English Method for Writing and Translating Skill. Through this method, which is completely elaborated in the CMM Book, studying English becomes easier and practical, because sentence formulas which are commonly deemed complicated become simpler as it is only use one sentence formula to study all aspects of the language matters. This method is called SEIC (Simplified English for Intensive Course). This method is derived from long-term collaboration between Dr. Barry Pinkerton from California USA  and Rachmat Effendi from Hapsa et Studia, and has started to be used in Hapsa et Studia since 1992.
